Welcome
A very warm welcome to Victoria Park Nursery School
For over 80 years, we have provided a nurturing, inspiring start for young children in Newbury. Situated on the edge of Victoria Park, we are a maintained nursery school offering expert early years education in a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment.
What makes a maintained nursery school different?
We are one of only two nursery schools in West Berkshire and are led by qualified teachers and highly skilled early years practitioners who understand how young children learn and develop. We follow the highest standards of education, safeguarding and inclusion, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive.
Why families choose us
• Expert Early Years Education – Our experienced team plans engaging, play-based learning that prioritises communication, language, physical development and social skills.
• Learning Through Play – In our well-resourced indoor and outstanding outdoor spaces, we turn everyday experiences into exciting opportunities for learning.
• Inclusive and Supportive – We celebrate diversity and provide tailored support for children with additional needs, English as an additional language, or those requiring extra help. We are also looking forward to opening a Specialist Inclusion Base in September 2027.
• Safe and Nurturing Environment – Children's wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. Strong safeguarding practices and positive relationships help every child feel secure and confident.
• Strong Family Partnerships – We work closely with parents, sharing progress and practical ideas to support learning at home.
• Preparing Children for Life – Our broad curriculum promotes curiosity, independence, resilience, creativity and confidence, helping children make a successful transition to primary school.
